Indeed, the gorge, the mountains, snow tops, rapid rivers, picturesque valleys are covered with a flower carpet. In the north-western part of Tsakhkadzor one can find the 11th century monastic complex of Kecharis. It was built by Princes Pahlavuni. In the 12th - 13th centuries, Kecharis was a major religious center of Armenia. The monastery includes 4 churches, courtyard, 2 chapels and many khachkars (cross-stones).
